Big blocks for big jobs. At 2.25″, the Nano 4 is built for large seed — sweet peas, sunflowers, squash, cucumbers, and nasturtiums — and for robust vegetable transplants that want room to stretch before they go out. It’s also our potting-up block: bump a smaller soil block straight up into a 2.25″ block with no repotting and no disturbed roots.

Each block is open on all sides, so roots air-prune at the edge instead of circling and binding. Seedlings build a strong, well-branched rootball and settle into the garden without the usual transplant stall.

Four generous blocks a press is plenty for a home grower starting a flat of vines or squash, or for anyone potting up their best seedlings. The Nano 4 fits in just under a 5″ square footprint, reuses the trays and kitchen containers you already have, and its stamped permanent dibbles leave a clean planting dimple sized for larger seed.

Roots that move without the shock

When a root hits the open edge of a block, air stops it — so seedlings build a dense, fibrous rootball instead of circling. They transplant like they barely noticed the move — most starts ready to plant out in about four weeks.
